Column bashing Bush conveniently omits facts

Story tools:

Ellen Goodman’s column “Crawford sticks in the craw,” is a classic liberal emotion-charged and fact-short rant that continues to push our nation toward class warfare, a pervasive entitlement mentality and outright socialism. Lacking any substance and loaded with pointless vitriol, the column whines on about our failing economy but avoids mentioning the destructive Clinton administration social engineering policies that precipitated the downfall.

Abu Ghraib is again tossed in to suggest that what is otherwise a hazing ritual in some colleges was an outrage toward humanity. The idea that we could conduct a war against monsters who want us dead without paying for it is ludicrous.

The column could have lauded the Bush administration’s achievements in AIDS relief, homeland security, tax cuts for all Americans and other notable high points, but then that would have been out of style. Time to shift gears while senseless and destructive opinions distract our attention. Real issues go unnoticed.

Let’s start seeing some outrage about Gov. David Paterson’s proposals to increase entitlement benefits 30 percent. Let’s talk more about the hypocrisy of admonishing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for trying to serve her country while we praise Caroline Kennedy. Oh yeah, I forgot, that is not “in style!”
