Letters: Jauron must move Bills forward
It's too early to make any quarterback changes based on one game. However, Ryan Fitzpatrick did show some abilities that have been lacking. He releases his passes faster, handles the pass rushes and blitzes better, scrambles better, and finds his receivers well.
He will play this weekend and with a decent performance should continue as starter.
If the Bills are the team of the future, it will have to be evident from now on. Dick Jauron has gotten a reprieve and hopefully will start to show that he can eliminate his past failures and move the Bills forward. The solution to the coaching problems lies squarely on his shoulders. The Bills' offense still has a long way to go.

Bills require huge housecleaning
As I look at the missing person on my milk carton, I notice a picture of Aaron Maybin and think, what has become of our team?
Tom Modrak and John Guy have done a terrible job in drafts. Our coaching staff is a joke. Our owner set us back several more years by making Marv Levy a GM in 2006. Wilson allowed Marv to try to steady a sinking ship and because of Marv and Ralph the fans are all drowning.
Levy's first draft with Modrak and Guy produced Donte Whitner who is average at best. They traded up to draft John McCargo, a total bust. In 2007, our first three picks — Marshawn Lynch, who had character issues, Paul Posluszny, who had injury concerns, and Trent Edwards, who was sacked a gazillion times in college. Each concern is now a fact.
Levy also gave huge extensions to Schobel and Kelsay, neither have lived up to those contracts. Levy's big splash was Derrick Dockery and Langston Walker, both are gonzo.
Wilson went with Levy in the Jauron hire, a move that has set us back even more. Trent quotes Jauron as saying "Come with solutions, don't come with questions."
I have the solution and it comes without any question. This team needs to clean house — all upper management, coaches and most of the players.

Wilson's commitment keeps Bills here
It's time to end the dispensation long enjoyed by letter writers here for their hate-sated excoriation of Ralph Wilson.
For years, grandstanding harpies denigrate Wilson's dedication to WNY, often in terms akin to character ridicule and smear. Fans ought to genuflect before Wilson's effort for this team.
We still have the Bills, thanks to Wilson's commitment to keep them in this rust bowl of a city, eschewing a probable doubling of its value via removal to a large-market venue.
Keeping ticket prices the NFL's annual lowest speaks to his efforts on our behest.

Saban's example should be followed
Coach Jauron is not the only problem facing the hapless Bills. General Manager Russ Brandon is a marketing guy and bean counter. He is not a football guy.
Ralph Wilson fired previous GM Tom Donahoe but kept almost all of his staff including Brandon, Tom Modrak and John Guy. That defeated the purpose of the change in the front office. What is the future? A change in head coach to another second-or-third-tier guy. We need the housecleaning that a former great coach here did, Lou Saban. He cleaned house and the following season we were back as winners.

Two straight wins keep hope alive
The Buffalo Bills' defense is like a cat with nine lives.
Someone goes down and they seem to get up again and find a way to survive. A second straight win gave another sign of life and maybe, don't hold your breath, a shot at the playoffs.

Bills deserve more fan support
Once again, I was sitting down Sunday morning to read all of the letters about the Buffalo Bills. You cry if they lose, and you cry if they win. If you can't take the heat, then do not go, do not watch, stay home and try knitting.
The coach does not drop passes that should be caught. He does not fumble the ball at the end of the game, giving the other side a chance to win — three times. We have a young team, they are going to lose games. The billboards asking to fire coach Dick Jauron are a disgrace to Buffalo. What would happen if we increased our support? We should not kick a person when he is down. Try this: Go to a home game and cheer all coaches and players all game long. Shout and scream until you can't anymore. In other words, support them. You might like it, and they might do better.

Wake up, Bills fans and look around
Wake up Bills fans: check the records of other NFL teams and you will find that there are more teams than not that do not make the playoffs. So what is a nine-year streak? Streaks can be and will be broken.
I have been a Bills fan for more years than I can count and yes I am disappointed in their play and disappointed with the coaching, but don't give up yet. Don't give anyone the opportunity or the excuse to force a move of our team.
