Sabres drafted familiar names
I had to chuckle when I saw the last names of the Sabres’ first three draft choices. Either John Anderson has been rehired by the Sabres to do their drafting or it is quite a coincidence that McNabb, Foligno and Kassian were the picks. Mike Foligno and Peter McNab were Sabres draft picks about 30 years ago. Dennis Kassian was a forward for the hockey Bisons in the ’60s.
If Zack Kassian, Brayden McNabb and Marcus Foligno turn out to be as good as Dennis, Peter and Mike, it will be a successful draft.
At long last, the Sabres finally went after some grit and toughness. Too bad it will take at least three years for them to make the regular roster. That’s why it is imperative that Darcy Regier adds muscle and attitude to the team in free agency. I’m tired of seeing Ryan Miller taking physical abuse and no one coming to his aid.
