Letters: Jauron's departure doesn't solve things

Give Dick Jauron credit for three things. One was that his team never really gave up playing for him (somehow). Two, he did have to contend with an exorbitant amount of injuries (no excuse, but reality none the less). Three, the defense held up semi-well at times (until it got worn down late). Letters: Yankees buy, Yankees win!

History has been made. Incredibly, the Yankees have won their 27th major league championship. In this open free enterprise system, the Yankees' ignored the luxury tax like it never existed to buy a World Series ring. (Updated: 11/14/09 10:38 PM )

Two plays can make a world of difference

Sometimes we get too caught up in all the football testosterone and forget what is really important in life. I am grateful I was reminded. (Updated: 11/08/09 8:24 AM )

Old Bills deserve their fair share

Mark Gaughan recently crunched some numbers to “prove” that American Football League players were not underrepresented in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Here are some numbers of my own: (Updated: 11/08/09 8:24 AM )

Time for football to open things up

Larry Felser’s commentary raises an interesting issue on the ability of the modern-day quarterback and their offense to produce against the athletic multitude of schemes on the defensive side of the ball. (Updated: 11/08/09 8:24 AM )

Lynch’s actions no laughing matter

Another week, another pathetic display of “professional” football by the Buffalo Bills. What really angers me is the cavalier attitude from our “star” running back Marshawn Lynch, who was captured on camera on the Bills sideline laughing it up, right after running back Ryan Moats of the Texans scored his third touchdown of the game. Take a lesson from ‘The Professor’

Explanations don’t get any simpler than the following frank thoughts from ESPN’s John Clayton: (Updated: 11/08/09 8:24 AM )

Bills problems are adding up

Letters: Jauron must move Bills forward

It's too early to make any quarterback changes based on one game. However, Ryan Fitzpatrick did show some abilities that have been lacking. He releases his passes faster, handles the pass rushes and blitzes better, scrambles better, and finds his receivers well. (Updated: 10/31/09 11:19 PM )

Dump players who are undisciplined

Mr. Wilson, step up and teach character traits. (Updated: 11/15/09 8:12 AM )

Old-time Bills knew how to win

Baseball needs some modernizing

Here we are in the middle of the second season of baseball— the playoffs. (Updated: 11/15/09 8:12 AM )

To Bills players it’s just a job

I’d like to bring out a point that I think all the Bills fans in WNY should keep in mind while trying to watch that pathetic excuse for a team, and coach, for the remainder of the season. The fact is, even the most casual fan cares more about the team winning than the average player does. When payday arrives at One Bills Drive, the players receive their money no matter what the outcome of the game. And I’m sure nobody is ever the least bit embarrassed or shy about taking that check. How else can you explain such a lack of anything resembling an honest effort to get better? With very few exceptions, any pride in themselves or the team just does not seem to exist. As we are told all the time, to them it is just a job. The goal of a winning season, much less a Super Bowl, obviously requires much more of a commitment than most of the players are willing to accept. So try not to drink the Kool Aid. Give your loyalty to someone or something in your life that has earned and deserves it. (Updated: 11/15/09 8:12 AM )

Fire Jauron before game in Toronto

Dear Ralph, How much longer do we have to put up with this so called “Pro Football” team? If you ran your other businesses the same way that this team is run, you would not have had enough money to buy a ticket to a game, let alone enough money to start this franchise. Before it is too late, please step in and fire Jauron. The fan’s passion is turning to pity. Fix the problem before this team goes to Toronto for the Jets game. If you don’t do something by then and they continue to look pathetic, you can leave them there. (Updated: 11/15/09 8:12 AM )

Wonder about that gurgling sound?

I really think this says it all: Nobody circles the drain like the Buffalo Bills. (Updated: 11/15/09 8:12 AM )
