Jeanette R. Beckham, teacher’s aide

Jeanette R. “Dubah” Beckham, a retired teacher’s aide, died Tuesday in her Buffalo home following a brief illness. She was 70.
Born Jeanette Collins in Buffalo, she graduated from East High School and attended Canisius College.
For more than 28 years, she was a teacher’s aide in Buffalo Public Schools, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Beckham was an active member of St. John Baptist Church and the Lady Electra Chapter 75, Order of the Eastern Star.
She also was a secretary at the William-Emslie YMCA, where she participated in crocheting, ceramics and swimming.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Tod; two daughters, Toshiko Exum and Tracey Beckham-Smith; and a sister, Ruth Collins-Stroud.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St., following a wake at 11 a. m.
