Three students named Rhodes Scholars
NEW YORK (AP) — Three students with ties to New York City are part of an elite group of 32 people around the country who have been selected to be Rhodes Scholars.
The high achievers will enter Oxford University in England in October.
They are:
• David L. V. Bauer, a student at City College of New York who plans to continue genetics research he began at Oxford last year while studying abroad. The Manhattan native said he hoped to help make genetic testing fast and inexpensive so that everyone has access to the technology.
• BronxresidentRakimH. D. Brooks, who already has been appointed a scholar at several public policy institutes. He wants to study comparative social policy.
• Columbia University student R. Jisung Park, who has studied sustainable development and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in nature, society, and environmental policy.
