Woman charged with dropping baby on head
GREENWICH (AP) — An 18- year-old woman is accused of dropping her 5-week-old daughter head-first on the sidewalk and driving off drunk, leaving the baby behind.
Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said a witness called police, who located the mother, Krista Cherry. The baby, Madison Brown, was treated in Glens Falls Hospital for a head injury after the Friday night incident. Hospital spokesman Phil Kahn said the baby was in good condition Monday.
Cherry was charged with second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and driving while intoxicated. She was arraigned and released on $500 bail.
