More Web providers to purge child porn
WHITE PLAINS (AP) — State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday that several more Internet service providers have agreed to limit access to child pornography.
He said Comcast, NetZero, Juno and BlueLight Internet will purge their servers of child porn sites and eliminate access to child porn newsgroups.
Similar agreements were announced previously with AT&T, Verizon Communications, AOL, Sprint Nextel Corp., and Time Warner Cable.
Cuomo said he has also subpoenaed several small local Internet providers for information about how they combat child pornography.
The announcement came a week after Cuomo threatened Comcast with legal action if it didn’t block the pornographic images.
