Premier acts to block publication of photos

Story tools:

ROME(AP)—Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi has moved to block publication of hundreds of photos of guests at his Sardinian villa, his lawyer acknowledged Saturday.

State television reported that among the photos were some taken last New Year’s Eve, with the guests including an 18- year-old Neapolitan woman at the heart of a political and personal scandal stemming from his fondness for young women.

Corriere della Sera reported that some of the photos showed young women topless or in bikinis in the gardens of the villa.

Berlusconi’s lawyer, Niccolo Ghedini, insisted that there was nothing racy in the photos.
