Following is a weekly listing of upcoming events of area faith groups held around Niagara County.

Today

GRAND OPENING: Service will

commemorate opening of Niagara Alliance Church, formerly known as Wheatfield Neighborhood Church, 10:30 a. m., 7041 Witmer Road, Wheatfield.

LUNCHEON: Potluck lunch program

will include presentation by Sue and Leah Dicky on their experiences on a mission trip to Africa, 2:30 p. m., First Presbyterian Church of Niagara Falls, 311 First St., Niagara Falls. Bring a dish to share.

Monday

PRAYER: Ministry team from

churches throughout Buffalo Niagara region utilizes God’s word and training to assist anyone who is sick physically, emotionally or spiritually, 7 to 9 p. m. No fee and no appointment necessary. St. James United Church of Christ, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls. Appointments can also be made by calling 884-0048.

Wednesday

STRAWBERRY SOCIAL: Hot

dogs, hamburgers, strawberry shortcake. 4 to 7 p. m. Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish Hall, 626 Oliver St., North Tonawanda.

Saturday

RUMMAGE SALE: To benefit the

church’s project to fill backpacks with school supplies for students in need. 9 a. m. to 3 p. m., Nash Road Free Methodist Church, 958 Nash Road, North Tonawanda.

STRAWBERRY FEST: Homemade

strawberry shortcake, grilled foods, basket auction. Noon to 4 p. m. St. John’s Episcopal Church, Main and Chestnut streets, Youngstown. Historic church tours at 1 p. m. Festival will continue next Sunday, noon to 4 p. m.
