The Chrysanthemum Show opens from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Saturday and continues through Nov. 8 at the Buffalo&Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. Admission: $6 adults; $5 seniors (55 and older) and students with ID; $3 for children, ages 6 to 13. The Federated Holland Garden Club will meet at 11 a. m. Wednesday in Beaver Meadow Nature Center, 1610 Welch Road, North Java. Members will hike the trails, enjoy a pot-luck luncheon and listen to a presentation on owls given by naturalist Paul Fehringer. New members welcome.

Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Eighth District, will hold its fall meeting and luncheon Thursday in the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. Meeting and morning program begins at 9:30 a. m. The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy will host a free workshop on the selection, planting and care of roses from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m.
