New England lodges, huts offer free nights

The Appalachian Mountain Club, a nonprofit conservation and recreation organization, has a free-night deal at its northern New England lodges and White Mountain huts in New Hampshire. Stay three nights, Sunday through Friday, now through Dec. 25, and pay for two. Many of the facilities are full service through mid-October, with meals and naturalist programs included in the price. Nightly full-service rates at the White Mountain huts, for example, are $88 for members, $97 for nonmembers; self-service rates (BYO grub) are $32 and $35, respectively. • Chateau on the Lake Resort& Spa in Branson, Mo., has a Fall Foliage offer: Stay two nights at the AAA four-diamond resort and receive the third night free. • Red Mountain Resort& Spa in St. George, Utah, is offering a$ 100 resort credit if you book a Signature Package for three nights and a$250 resort credit for seven nights. The Signature Package starts at $219 per person double per night and includes accommodations, three meals a day, daily guided hikes, unlimited fitness classes, cooking demos and other activities. • MSC Cruises has a sale on seven-night Caribbean cruises during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays. With the Family Plan for Four offer, book a balcony superior stateroom and save up to 50 percent on a connecting balcony superior stateroom. Cruises depart from Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 21, Dec. 19 and Dec. 26. • The Bermuda “Endless Summer” promotion has been extended for travel through Oct. 31. Eighteen island hotels are offering one or two free nights, depending on the length of your stay. For instance, Fairmont Hamilton Princess and Fairmont Southampton, and the Grotto Bay Beach Resort& Tennis Club have a “Buy 2 nights, get 3rd free” offer; others have free nights after three, four or five night stays. Several local restaurants are complimenting the promotion with a “buy one get one free” offer for entrees.
