“Nickel City Chefs,” a popular professional cooking series featuring top local chefs, is looking for challengers for its second season. Applicants must currently be employed as a sous chef or executive chef in a locally owned restaurant, hotel or club.

Prosit (5428 Main St., Williamsville) will offer a Polish Christmas Eve Wigilia Supper on Dec. 24. Two sittings are planned — from 4:30 to 5 p. m. or 7:30 to 8 p. m. The menu will include 13 meatless courses such as Polish Mushroom Soup, Salmon Patties and Fish Cakes, Cheese Pierogi, Meatless Bigos and Sauteed Apples with Placek Crumbs. Rservations are required. New at Tony Rome’s

Tony Rome’s Hotel and Restaurant (711 Main St., East Aurora) is celebrating the conclusion of the year-long road construction on Main Street by creating a new Meal for Two for $25. Diners can choose from a selection including Sunset Shrimp and Pasta, Filet of Sirloin or Deep Fried Sea Scallops. The restaurant will also begin serving its traditional Hot Buttered Rum next week. Called “dessert in a glass,” that specialty will be served until spring. — Janice Okun
