Watch and eat

The Lake Effect Diner will be featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” show at 10 p. m. Monday. To celebrate, owners Tucker and Erin Curtin will hold a public screening of the show at the same time at The Steer, 3151 Main St. They’ll even be serving samples of the food showcased on TV — House Cured and Smoked Ham with Red Eye Gravy, House Ground Italian Sausage and the Italian Haddock Dinner with tomatoes and fresh basil. The six-minute Lake Effect segment of the show will be featured first at 10 p. m. sharp, so early arrival is advised.

Ho, Ho, Ho

Brunch with Santa will be served from 10:30 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. every Sunday from Nov. 29 through Dec. 20 at elaborately adorned for the holidays Salvatore’s Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Lancaster. Call 683-7990 for reservations.

Happy harvest

The 2009 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau Harvest Festival starts at 6 pm. next Friday at the Roycroft Inn, 40 S. Grove St., East Aurora.

Guests may elect to enjoy two glasses of the wine with light hors d’oeuvres in the lounge or indulge in dinner in the dining room. That menu includes Tomato Parmesan Soup, a salad of fresh local apples and pears; a choice of fresh fish or maple glazed pork tenderloin with seasonal vegetables. Dessert is Bourbon Apple Tart and the Beaujolais will be served throughout.
