Wine dinner

On Thursday, the Verbena Grille, 930 Maple Road, Williamsville, will host the first of its quarterly wine dinner events.

Chef Bruce Wieszala will provide a five-course meal, emphasizing seasonal selections, paired with wine, a Champagne reception and an open bar. Music will be provided by classical guitarist Joseph Michael Mohfoud.

Tickets are $150 per person, all inclusive. To reserve, please call 580-3125.

New restaurant

P. F. Chang’s Chinese Bistro, a franchise restaurant headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., opened its Western New York doors on Oct. 27 at 1 Galleria Drive. The 7,000-square-foot facility features contemporary Chinese design and offers upscale dining with dishes and flavors inspired by China. One special feature is the “Chang’s for Two” menu, a four-course meal for $49.50 per couple.

The restaurant is open 11 a. m. to 11 p. m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a. m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. It seats 200. Reservations are accepted at 706-0791.

Tour de Vine 2009

Computers for Children, an organization that provides computers and training to needy schools and agencies, will host its second annual Tour de Vine benefit at 6 p. m. Thursday in the Hyatt Regency, 2 Fountain Plaza.

The event will feature restaurants offering diversified samples of everything from braised short ribs to sushi. It will also feature a variety of beverage presenters offering wines, water, beer, coffee and iced tea. Jazz Miracles will perform, and an auction is planned.

Admission is $40 per person; $75 a couple. Tickets are available at the door, or call 823-7248 or visit
