CELEBRATE GRANDPARENTS DAY

SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Katherine Landahl of Lake View is the recipient of a $3,000 scholarship through the First Wind Scholar program, which recognizes students with an interest in energy, the environment or the sciences. A recent graduate of Frontier High School in Hamburg, Katherine will use her scholarship toward tuition at Canisius College, where she plans to study chemistry.
ESSAY CONTEST
First Niagara Bank has launched its 2010 Mentoring Matters program with an essay contest open to sixth-graders who are involved in mentoring programs. Winners will receive $5,000 for their school, a $500 savings bond for themselves and a starring role on a First Niagara TV commercial. For more information, visit www.fnfg.com.
