Get comfortable

Designer Gaby Basora is known for her silk-printed blouses and dresses, but it’s the gray fleece jumpsuit from her soon-to-arrive, limited-edition Tucker for Target collection that caught our eye.

Face it: Some of us will never get over the appeal of popping into a jumpsuit. So simple. So effortless.

The jumpsuit costs $44.99; the Tucker for Target collection launches Sept. 12 on Target.com/go and most Target stores.

Similarly, retailer J. Jill has some new fall pieces for comfort-seekers, including a knit boyfriend blazer; it’s shown in dark gray heather on the cover of the August catalog.

Other options include the Live-in Sweater Dress, the Wearever Pencil Skirt, the Carefree Sweater Vest and the Easygoing Canvas Tote. Relax.

Fashion tip

How do you wear print dresses without looking like you’ve gained 10 pounds?

Here’s a tip from McClatchy Newspapers: Choose no-frills dresses with sleek, simple lines and dark, vertical prints.

Bold meets soft

What’s in store for fall makeup? Avon’s Jillian Dempsey offers this take on the trends in a recent brochure:

“Bold lashes and dark nails dominate this fall. Lashes create a flirty statement, while nails in deep, matte hues add intensity to the look. To complement the season’s trends, opt for a neutral highlighting shadow and radiant flawless skin.”

The result: An edgy twist on a softer, feminine look.

Florals for fall

If it’s floral prints you love, there’s no reason to give them up come fall. Richly colored flowery designs, many resembling watercolor paintings, can be found on dresses, cardigans, skirts, tunics, lounge wear, scarves and tights.

The Garnet Hill catalog even shows a rose floral trench coat in its Early Fall catalog, as well as merino wool floral cardigans.

Shown here: Rose-print sheath dress from White House/Black Market, $168, with removable grosgrain ribbon bow belt.
