The Chrysanthemum Show opens from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Saturday and continues through Nov. 8 at the Buffalo&Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. Admission: $6 adults; $5 seniors (55 and older) and students with ID; $3 for children, ages 6 to 13. Cheektowaga Garden Club will meet at 7 p. m. Monday in the Cleveland Hill High School faculty cafeteria, Mapleview Road, Cheektowaga. Brad White, horticulture teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools, will present a workshop on dish gardens. Workshop fee, $10. Reservations in advance to Diane Koczon.
Smallwood Garden Club will meet at 7 p. m. Monday in Forest Elementary School, 250 N. Forest Road, Amherst, for a workshop on “Ming Trees” topiary.

The Federated Holland Garden Club will meet at 11 a. m. Wednesday in Beaver Meadow Nature Center, 1610 Welch Road, North Java. Members will hike the trails, enjoy a pot-luck luncheon and listen to a presentation on owls given by naturalist Paul Fehringer. New members welcome.
Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Eighth District, will hold its fall meeting and luncheon Thursday in the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. Meeting and morning program begins at 9:30 a. m. The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy will host a free workshop on the selection, planting and care of roses from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m.
