A prenatal class to prepare expectant parents for childbearing and parenting will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m. Tuesday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. It continues Feb. 9, 16, and 23. To register, call 278-4433.
A program to assess risk for cardiovascular disease will be offered from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. Wednesday at Schofield Residence Nursing Facility, 333 Elmwood, Town of Tonawanda. “Know Your Risks: Cardiovascular Screening” includes preventative diagnostic ultrasound screenings to assess risk for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease, and information on risks, prevention and treatment. “Take Control of Kidney Disease Through Knowledge,“ a chronic kidney disease management class for those in the early stages of kidney disease, will be held at 5 p. m. next Tuesday in the National Kidney Foundation offices, 300 Delaware Ave., Suite 101. Taught by a registered dietitian, the class covers kidney function, conditions that accompany chronic kidney disease, slowing the progression of the disease, maintaining a healthy attitude, and nutrition and diet guidelines. The $35 cost is covered for most members of the major health insurance carriers. Scholarships are available. To register, call 835-1323.
The Breast Cancer Network of WNY will present a program on “What Are My Risks of Thyroid Cancer” at 6 p. m. next Tuesday in the Emerson Room in Unitarian Universalist Church, 6320 Main St., Williamsville.
