SOS Badge to Badge, an addiction recovery support group for law enforcement personnel, meets Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p. m. in the Center for Inquiry, 1310 Sweet Home Road, Amherst. The meeting is open to law enforcement and corrections officers only. Call 636-4869, Ext. 318.
“Activities and the Person with Dementia” will be the topic at an Alzheimer’s Association, WNY Chapter, family support group meeting at 7 p. m. Wednesday in DeGraff Adult Day Care, 82 Mead St., North Tonawanda. For reservations, call 694-7662.
“Hearing Loss and Hearing Aids: What’s Best For Me?” will be addressed at a free educational seminar to be held at noon Thursday at Buffalo Hearing&Speech Center, 50 E. North St. Licensed audiologists will be available for personal consultations, to answer questions and discuss hearing aid options. Lunch will be provided, and parking is free. Catholic Health’s HealthConnection will host a free Diabetes Self-Management Series at Williamsville Diagnostic Center, 400 International Drive, Williamsville. Classes will be held at 6 p. m. Feb. 2, 4, 9 and 11. Irene Haefner, a registered nurse and diabetes educator, will present information on proper diet, exercise, meal planning, blood sugar monitoring, foot care and lifestyle changes. Independent Health Medicare members can learn to manage their health through weekly health and wellness activities at its Medicare information center, 620 Dick Road, Cheektowaga. Members can learn healthy cooking tips, attend health and wellness seminars, and participate in exercise classes.
