Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral, 6298 Broadway, Lancaster, will offer a special Dozynki —or Polish harvest festival—Mass at 10 a. m. Sept. 19.
Mass will be followed by a Dozynki ceremony and an afternoon full of events, including Polish heritage dancers, cultural demonstrations and a performance by the Chopin Singing Society.
Benefit concert for HaitiA benefit concert to aid vulnerable children in Haiti and Western New York will be held from 7 to 8:30 p. m. Sept. 18 in University Presbyterian Church, 3330 Main St.
The concert will feature the Lancaster High School Carnival Kids Steel Orchestra.
Proceeds will benefit Pwoje Espwa Sud (project Hope South), an orphanage near Les Cayes, Haiti, and Family Promise, a partnership of local congregations that provides shelter and other resources to homeless families with children as they work to regain their independence.
No tickets are required, but a free will offering will be collected.
Diabetes sessions setChurch of the Nativity United Church of Christ, 1530 Colvin Blvd., will offer a program to help prevent and combat diabetes in diabetics, pre-diabetics and others at risk for the disease.
Enrollment and screening will be from 2 to8 p. m. Sept. 13. Free sessions that are open to the public will be held at 6 p.m. on Mondays from Sept. 20 to Oct. 25.
