1. Grab your pedometers and head downtown. Three calorie-busting tours Friday from Preservation Buffalo Niagara will give you good reason to talk proud:
Queen City Downtown (10 a. m. to noon): Landmark hopping doesn’t get better. Meet at Market Arcade Visitors Center, 617 Main St. Cost: $10/$5.
City Hall (noon): Art Deco at its finest. One hour. Meet in lobby. Free.
Guaranty Building (2 to 4p.m.): Inside tour with refreshments hits three floors. Meet at Pearl and Church streets. $20.
2. Do lunch with Santa. Sleep in and head to the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum for a bite with the man in red. Food is served at 11 a. m. Saturday, Dec. 5 and 12. Entertainment and activities follow. Cost: $6 Reservations: 693-1885. Find the fun at 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda.
3. Viva la creche. One Nativity scene is never enough. That’s why from 1 to 4 p. m. Saturday and Sunday, you will find 249 manger sets from around the world. Take in the scene at Sts. Columba-Brigid Church, Hickory and Eagle streets. You won’t be sorry. The display continues Dec. 5, 6, 11, 12, 18 and 19 and Jan. 2 and 3.
4. One more tour, pul-eeeze! This one takes you lakeside in Derby, where Frank Lloyd Wright built a masterpiece called Graycliff. Tours run at 11 a. m., noon, 1 and 2 p. m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and each is capped with a cup of hot mulled cider. Cost $15/$10. The estate is at 6472 Old Lake Shore Road.
