Airline passengers can get extra legroom –for a price
Updated: 03/14/10 6:32 AM
If you don’t want to pay the exorbitant price for a first-class ticket, your only chance to avoid the bone-crunching crowding of the airlines’ coach/economy cabins is to wangle a coach seat with extra legroom. Dear Abby: Friends not warm to husband
Updated: 03/14/10 8:33 AM
Dear Abby: “Oscar” and I have been married for three years. We have had many ups and downs and a few near-separations, but we’re now on a better path and working hard on our relationship. Because my friends have seen the rocky times Oscar and I have been through, they are not as nice to him as I’d like. In particular, this applies to my best friend, “Tish,” and her husband.
Wine Guys: Concannon’s long tradition
Updated: 03/14/10 8:34 AM
Located 20 miles from San Francisco Bay in the once rural Livermore Valley is the Concannon Winery. The 200 acres of vineyards and winery are surrounded by commercial interests and housing developments that threatened the low-density, agricultural nature of the land. Instead of bowing to economic pressures, Concannon and other surrounding Livermore vineyard owners put their land into a conservancy trust that forbids commercial exploitation of their land, and preserving the area for grape growing and wine making.
