Chinese food goes sexy. And successful. P. F. Chang’s China Bistro has been packing them in for about a month now in the Walden Galleria’s ultra-eating section (as opposed to the food court — it’s definitely not the food court). The Scottsdale, Ariz.,-based chain features what is basically a menu of standard favorites, but they are presented with panache.

Mythos: Classy and cheap
Updated: 11/20/09 9:00 AM
I have a confession to make: The decor at Mythos frightened me a little. I am used to Greek restaurants where the decor is an old photo of the Parthenon. In Mythos, the art is large, historic-looking sketches accenting the dark wood. The portions were large, the prices were good, and everything was delicious.

The Buzz: Metallica vs. Jackie Jocko
Updated: 11/19/09 9:04 AM
Clash of the titans: Happily, Metallica took time out on its recent visit to Buffalo to catch piano man Jackie Jocko at the Hyatt. Unhappily, the admiration was not mutual. Jocko said an “old fogey” from Metallica said: “Holy #$*&, can that guy play the piano.”

Jeff Simon: Will Palin talk the talk?
“Should I be worried?” asked Oprah Winfrey of Sarah Palin. It was her final question. In truth, it was the only question I wanted an answer to –the only reason I watched the full hour “Oprah Winfrey Show” launch of Sarah Palin’s book tour on behalf of her memoir, “Going Rogue” (HarperCollins, 432 pages, $28.99).
