Melissa Kujda and Daniel P. Baskind were married at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 in Merry-Go-Round Pavilion, Bear Mountain State Park, where a reception was held following the ceremony. Judge Jennifer E. Daly of Buchanan Village Court heard the couple’s vows. The bride’s parents are Joseph A. and Christine M. Kujda of Strykersville. The bridegroom’s parents are Dr. Lawrence J. Baskind and Jill M. Peters of Cortlandt Manor. The bride is a graduate of Holland High School. She earned an associate degree in communications and media arts from Erie Community College, a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in law and society from Cornell University and also earned a juris doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. The bride is a criminal defense attorney. The groom is a graduate of Walter Panas High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biological and environmental engineering and also a master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University. The groom is a process development associate for a vaccine development company. The couple also spent time in Cape Town, South Africa, where she worked for a human rights nongovernmental organization, and he volunteered for Monkeybiz, a nonprofit income-generating bead project. After a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple will make their home in Baltimore.
