Time Warner Cable will introduce a theme-based digital channel lineup for its Western New York customers starting in December.

There will be no change to channels 99 and below, and no changes in which channels are part of a customer’s cable TV package. But higher-number channels will be grouped together, in themes such as entertainment, news and information, and kids and teens, to make it easier for subscribers to find programming and discover new content. Similarly, On Demand content will be found on channels 1000 and above, grouped together in themed categories.

Most Time Warner Cable digital TV customers will receive the new lineup Dec. 3; the new lineup will take effect Dec. 5 in Buffalo, Dunkirk, Westfield, Olean, Wellsville, and Ulysses, Pa. Parental control and DVR settings will transition automatically.
