Q: Did Chloe Bennet do any television work before she began playing Skye on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”? – Pat Hayes, Columbus, Ohio
A: She was featured on “Nashville” during that ABC series’ first season as the character Hailey, and before that – under her birth name, Chloe Wang – she appeared in the very short-lived TeenNick program “The Nightlife.”
Q: Will “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” be back next season? – Joe Powers, St. Francis, Wis.
A: It took all concerned parties longer to reach that answer than they probably would have liked, but yes, the series will return for its 16th season. Reportedly, NBC asked executive producer Dick Wolf to make another year of the show with a lower budget, which he resisted. A meeting of the minds ultimately was reached, so Sgt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) again will lead the squad come fall.
That will give home-screen veteran Wolf the same number of NBC shows he had during the past TV season. His “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD” were among the first series renewed by the network for its 2014-15 lineup.
Q: Is Capt. Jim Brass really gone from “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”? – Sherry Woods, Buffalo
A: It appears that way. The season finale made it seem the character possibly could return, but the producers made the decision to write out Brass and the actor who had played him since the show began, Paul Guilfoyle. The forthcoming Season 15 will reveal whether Brass is brought back to tie up any unfinished business with the forensic detectives who worked for him.
