Remember when Anthony Bourdain came to Buffalo to show the world the essence of both Buffalo pop cuisine and Buffalo pop music?

It was Buffalo booster and rock musician Nelson Starr of The Tails who nagged him into doing that, as Bourdain was only too happy to admit to the world.

Now Starr is launching a new TV half-hour local show shamelessly dedicated to boosting a very new Buffalo which is growing up in the middle of the old Buffalo people remember – places such as Horsefeathers on Connecticut Street and Larkin Square on Seneca Street.

Starr’s new TV show is called “Buffalo for Real” and it will air Saturday afternoon: at 1:30 p.m. Channel 29 and 4:30 p.m. on Channel 49.

Starr is working with co-producer John Paget on another half-hour “Buffalo for Real” to be shown in July.
