The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library recently held a logo design contest for “Love Your Library – Library Awareness Month.”

More than 130 original logos were submitted by high school students in Erie County.

An awards ceremony was held Wednesday at Clearfield Library in Amherst.

“We were really pleased with everything we received from the students,” said library spokeswoman Joy Testa Cinquino.

The grand prize winner is Josie LoVallo, a senior at Williamsville East High School. Her logo will be used throughout the month of April in and on library promotional materials. Josie also received art supplies, books and other prizes.

There are six runners-up:

Nick Good, freshman, Frontier High School (his logo was the “People’s Choice”).
