Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m.: Discussion and book signing with novelist John H. Grandits, author of “Canalside Tale,” the fictional story of Detective Danny “Brick Fist” Doyle, who polices one of the most notorious and crime-ridden precincts in 1880s America, Buffalo’s Canal District. A former official with U.S. Departments of Treasury and Homeland Security, Grandits is a graduate of Bishop Timon High School and Niagara University. Dog Ears Books, 688 Abbott Road.
