Monday, 7 p.m.: UB Exhibit X Fiction Series reading featuring writers Rebecca Goodman and Martin Nakell. Goodman is the author of “The Surface of Motion” (Green Integer Books, 2008) and “Aftersight” (forthcoming from Spuyten Duyvil Books). Nackell is the author of 11 books of fiction, poetry and cross-genre writing including “The Myth of Creation” (Parentheses Writing Series, 1993), “The Library of Thomas Rivka” (Sun & Moon Press, 1997), Two Fields that Face and Mirror Each Other (Green Integer, 2001) and Settlement (Spuyten Duyvil Books, 2007). Tuesday, 7 p.m.: Talking Leaves Books joins 20 select locations across the United States celebrating the launch of World Book Night with award-winning Toronto based writer Vincent Pratchett, who will be speaking briefly about reading and giving. Pratchett’s “Raven’s Warrior” is one of 37 official World Book Night editions being distributed free of charge to underserved reading communities around the country by volunteers April 23. Attendees Tuesday receive a special WBN edition of Shakespeare’s Sonnets, in conjunction with the celebration of the Bard of Avon’s birthday each year, which coincides with World Book Night.
