World AIDS Day is Sunday, and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library plans activities throughout the weekend and into next week.

A series of special events, all free and open to the public, include a display of sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, which memorializes more than 94,000 people lost to HIV/AIDS.

Public viewing of the two panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt and local memorial quilts will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Friday, except until 8 p.m. Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
