Women who have ever wanted to try kayaking, stand-up paddling, fly fishing, sailing or a zipline will have an opportunity to do all that, and more, early this fall when Wild Women Unite hosts a weekend of activities centered on Grand Island.
Meditation, wild yoga, a drumming circle and tai chi also will be among the 30 workshops from which participants can choose. Organizers will supply all the instructors and all the equipment.
Wild Women Unite has partnered with the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo, Dance on the Wild Side, Guerrilla Video Solutions and Wild Women Expeditions to present the Healthy Wild Woman Expo the same weekend, Oct. 3-5, at Byblos Resort & Spa; the expo will be open to the public the last two days.
“This is a place where you can learn about healthy living, find some outdoor equipment you have been looking for or learn more about becoming a ‘wild woman,’ ” said Yvonne Folck, founder of Wild Woman Unite and lead organizer of the weekend’s events.
Register at wildwomenunite.com; those seeking vending space at the expo can call Folck at 870-4754.
