The Airport Bridge Club welcomes director Bill Finkelstein’s mother Rita on her move to Buffalo with a bagel nosh at today’s lesson (10:45 a.m.) and pairs game (noon). The club will offer a free pairs game with pizza at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 1.

The director’s birthday celebration on Monday, June 2, features cake at the 11 a.m. pairs game and a potluck dinner at 6:45 p.m., followed by the club’s first new Monday evening game at 7:15. Any pair that beats the director will share a $100 jackpot.

Congratulations to Dan Gerstman, who earned the most master points of any Buffalo area player in the All-American Regional Tournament May 20 to 26 in Cleveland. With 51.71 points, he was 21st overall.

Other leading local players in Cleveland included: David Hemmer, 29.53 points (tied for 47th); Kathy Pollock, 18.33 (75th); John Toy, 9.93 (tied for 161st); and Paul and Linda Zittle and Jan and Carl Hasselback, 9.71 (tied for 167th).
