Wade’s fishy entourage
Often television stars travel with assistants in charge of makeup and wardrobe. Jeremy Wade brought a tank with a black piranha and a candiru to a recent appointment.
Wade hosts Animal Planet’s “River Monsters,” the network’s most popular series, where he goes around the world to find ugly and often legendary creatures that lurk in murky waters. “River Monsters” begins its sixth season Sunday with a story on a 1981 shipwreck in the Amazon. Some 200 people died, and their remains were eaten, apparently by voracious fish.
Much of the season’s stories are set in the Amazon, hence the piranha and candiru. Toothy piranha – you already know about them. The candiru? You don’t want to. The tiny, eel-like creature has been known for very unpleasant infiltrations into humans.
Jenners seen hand-in-hand
Are Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner back together?
It sure looked that way Wednesday, when the separated spouses made their way – hand-in-hand and smiling – through LAX Airport.
The twosome, who in October announced their separation after 22 years of marriage, were returning from a family vacation in Thailand with Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and their other kids.
“We are living separately, and we are much happier this way,” the Jenners said in a statement in October. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other.”
‘Jersey Shore’ pals expecting
Snooki and her pal, JWoww, really do do everything together.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi told Us Weekly she’s expecting her second child with fiancé Jionni LaValle in the fall.
“Jenny and I always talked about being pregnant together,” the former “Jersey Shore” star tells the magazine. “I’m so excited to go through this experience with my best friend!”
Jenny “JWoww” Farley announced in December 2013 she was expecting her first child with fiancé Roger Matthews.
King makes Broadway cameo
Carole King surprised the cast of the Broadway musical about her life, walking out on stage in the Stephen Sondheim Theater during the curtain call of “Beautiful.”
She then sang one of her biggest hits, “You’ve Got a Friend,” trading verses with Jessie Mueller, the actress who plays her in the show.
King was reluctant until Thursday night to see the musical because it tells of a painful time in her life.
She said in a statement that it was an honor to see the show for the first time and that she was thrilled to help the cast raise $30,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
King said, “Jessie Mueller and company are fantastic, and it was so joyous to be there. I couldn’t be more proud.”
