Invest in a vest
f you like popping on a vest come cooler weather, this season’s styles won’t disappoint. Puffer vests in a rainbow of colors continue to be popular, while faux – be it fur or leather – is trendy for fall. A faux fur vest dresses up an outfit; a faux leather “moto” vest adds a bit of edginess. Fleece and knits are other options.

Feeling crafty? Of course you are. Here’s an autumnal idea from the October issue of Martha Stewart Living: “For a quick, no-carve front-porch display, paint a bunch of small pumpkins in rich reds, purples and golds. Start by priming each one with white acrylic paint; let dry. Then paint each pumpkin with a coat of your color of choice.”
Pressed leaves also can be painted with one coat and then arranged along with the pumpkins on a porch bench or fireplace mantel.
Lots of people love decorating their homes for Halloween, so here’s an idea to toss around: spooky pillows. Target sells one with the word “Poison” written on it. A sparkly “Boo” is scrawled across a black pillow from Pier 1; a spider drops down from the second “O.” A spider also catches the eye of a costumed owl displayed on yet another pillow from Pier 1. See, even your sofa isn’t safe from Halloween mania.
And finally …
“Fabulousness comes from within. It’s about living your life the most conscious way possible. Are the foods you’re putting in your body the highest quality you can afford? Are the clothes you’re wearing telling the world you’re glad you got out of bed this morning? Does your abode make you happy the second you walk in the front door? You want to be answering yes to those questions.”
