Motorcycle-inspired jackets – called moto jackets, for short – are a big trend for fall. They come in real leather, faux leather and other fabrics as well. Styles are all over the map. Bold zippers or minimal hardware. Cropped lengths or extended to the hip. Dressed up with a dress or dressed down with jeans.
We’ve seen them in fall collections from Macy’s, Kohl’s, J.C. Penney and LOFT, to name just a few.
Kohl’s calls them one of the “modern classics.”
A little lace
What’s clear is that lace is no longer just for spring and summer. Lace pieces also add a feminine touch to fall outfits.
Talbots, for one, includes in its fall collection a floral lace top in ivory or black, $119, as well as a red lace dress with short sleeves for $199.
Look, too, for lace tights.
Have a bunch of mismatched frames? Here’s an idea from the September issue of Martha Stewart Living: Create “a unified gallerylike look” on a wall by painting the frames the same neutral color, such as a light gray. If your wall is painted a cool color, choose a cool gray. Warm grays should be paired with other warm colors.
Sounds like a great fall project.
And finally …
