Construction to affect traffic on Kensington
Updated: August 21, 2010, 10:23 AM
Construction work beginning tonight on the Kensington Expressway (Route 33) in Buffalo
will affect travel in both directions for a couple of days, according to the state Department
of Transportation.
The outbound lanes will be closed at Humboldt Parkway (Exit 8) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Traffic will be directed to a detour along the parkway, which will allow motorists to re-enter
the expressway at East Delavan Avenue.
On Friday, the inbound lanes will be closed at Scajaquada from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The posted
detour will take motorists onto the Scajaquada, then Main Street and Humboldt Parkway, with
access to the expressway at East Utica Street.
On the Scajaquada, the ramp to the inbound Kensington Expressway will be closed from 7 p.m.
to 6 a.m. The detour will direct motorists to East Utica Street.
The eastbound Route 198 ramp to the eastbound Kensington Expressway will remain open.
New York State Police will be on site to help with traffic control and speed enforcement.
