Responding to a call of a shooting on the 300 block of Davidson Avenue at 9:45 a.m. today,

Buffalo police found the lifeless body of a 23-year-old man in the street in the Kensington

Avenue-Eggert Road neighborhood, authorities said.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to police spokesman Michael J.

DeGeorge. The victim's name is not being released at this time, pending notification of his

family.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted Wednesday morning at the Erie County Medical

Examiner's Office.

Homicide detectives were summoned to the scene after Northeast District police initially

answered the 911 call for help. A motive for the killing remains unclear at this point,

DeGeorge said.
