A Buffalo man who lost control of his car while driving drunk on Amherst Street and struck two houses early today was arrested by Northwest District police.

Mark O'Leary, 26, was charged with DWI and failure to keep right after he hit homes at 580

and 582 Amherst St. about 1 a.m. Officer Adam Stephany said O'Leary was traveling eastbound

near the intersection of Bridgeman Street when he swerved over the center yellow lines into

on-coming traffic.

Prior to hitting the houses, Stephany said, O'Leary hit a light pole. Porches, siding and

windows were damaged at the homes.
