Kids Escaping Drugs telethon generates $750,241
Updated: August 21, 2010, 9:44 AM
Saturday's 23rd annual Kids Escaping Drugs telethon raised $750,241, officials said today.
Money from the telethon, which aired from 6 to 11:30 p.m. on WGRZ-TV Channel 2, will
benefit Renaissance Campus in West Seneca, a 62-bed facility for drug- and alcohol-dependent
teens. The proceeds also help fund Kids Escaping Drugs' Face-to-Face initiative, which
partners with local schools to help kids avoid drugs.
Last year's telethon also raised more than $700,000.
