Buffalo Sabres broadcaster Mike Robitaille is currently home and undergoing outpatient

therapy for a spinal cord injury suffered Feb. 3, officials at Kaleida Health reported today.

Robitaille underwent surgery Feb. 10 to decompress and stabilize his cervical spine at

Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital at Gates Circle.

He was sent home Feb. 12 and continued spinal cord rehabilitation that began while an

inpatient.

He now will be assessed on a week-to-week basis by his treating neurosurgeon, Dr. Kevin J.

Gibbons of University at Buffalo Neurosurgery, and his rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Phillip

Kuruvilla, to determine when he will be able to return to his broadcast duties with the

Sabres, according to a spokesman for Kaleida Health.
