CATTARAUGUS—An East Otto woman arrested Tuesday is accused of stealing money from Brooks Supermarket and failing to report the extra income to the Cattaraugus County Social Services Department.

Janet M. Bremiller, 31, Bremiller was arraigned in Town of New Albion Court and released to reappear in court at a later date. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged Bremiller with two counts of grand larceny, welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.

Officers said she stole about $3,200 while working at the store between Aug. 28 to Oct. 2 and failed to tell the county about the extra money, even though she was receiving public assistance.
