OLAF FUB SEZ: Advice from comedianW. C. Fields, born William Claude Dukenfield on this date in 1880, “Horse sense is the thing a horse has which keeps it from betting on people.”

HUNGRY?—Bring your appetite to Marilla United Methodist Church, 1910 Two Rod Road, from 8 to 9:30 a. m. Sunday for all-you-can-eat pancakes with sausage and bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, cocoa and orange juice. Cost is $5.

For dinner Sunday, steer over to the Alden Christian Theatre Society’s roast beef dinner at 1470 Church St., Alden. It starts at noon and continues until it’s sold out. Dinners are $8, or $6 for those 10 and younger, and include mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, roll and a beverage. Proceeds benefit the theater troupe, which is preparing for its Lenten play, “Road From Jerusalem.”

LIVING ON—Warm up your body and spirits from 2 to 5 p. m. Saturday in Quaker Bonnet Eatery, 172 Allen St. near Elmwood Avenue, by dropping in for an afternoon tea. Reservations are a must. Call 835-5078.

The occasion celebrates the book “Nine Cats: Nine Lives in the Tall, Narrow Brick House” by the late Elizabeth Squire Deichman, which contains 14 stories of her life with her cats on North Pearl Street.

The book, illustrated by Peter Sloan, was published the week after Deichman died two years ago. True to her intentions, its profits are going to agencies that help homeless cats. Sales in December and January benefit the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.

HEEEERE’S HENRY— “Henry’s Future” should not be confused with “Henry’s Crime,” the Keanu Reeves film, but they do have something in common. They both were filmed in Buffalo in the winter. “Henry’s Future,” however, is an independent romantic comedy made with local actors during the past year by locally based Challenge Films.

Directed by DonnaMarie Vaughan and co-produced by Emil J. Novak, owner of Queen City Bookstore, it stars Jason Gelsomino in the title role of a guy who’s afraid of romantic commitment and Robin Ritter as the woman who might just make him change his mind. Some of the fun may be in seeing how many local folks and scenes you recognize. More than 140 people and 18 business locations were involved.

It gets its premiere Saturday and Sunday in the Market Arcade Theater, at 2, 7 and 9:30 p. m. Saturday and at 12:30, 3 and 5:30 p. m. Sunday. For more information, visit www.henrysfuture.com.
