ELLINGTON—Chautauqua County sheriff’s officials have arrested a 17- year-old from Delaware on charges of sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputies arrested the 17-year-old— whose name was not released—at about 10 p. m. Friday, after finding him with a missing 14-year-old girl from Ellington, sheriff’s officials said.

The girl was reported missing by her parents at about 7:30 a. m. Friday. She was located Friday evening by authorities, who accuse the 17-year-old of helping the girl run away and being with her during the hours she was missing.

The 17-year-old was charged with two counts of sexual misconduct and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and taken to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
