BOONDOCK SAINTS II:ALL SAINTS DAY. Starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and Billy Connolly. Two brothers return home to Boston to avenge a priest’s murder in this sequel to the cult hit. 117 minutes. (RatedR for bloody violence, language and some nudity.) Opened Wednesday in the Regal Quaker Crossing. See review on Page 5.

FANTASTIC MR.FOX. The voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman in Wes Anderson’s stop-motion animated version of Roald Dahl’s 1970 children’s book about a nice, settled, middle-class fox who just can’t help stealing chickens. “At last—a movie that lets kids and their larger megaplex escorts think they’re being deliciously wicked without actually doing a single thing wrong. Here, courtesy of director Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl’s original book, is a family film with some genuine tang and more than a little sophistication to it (just enough for the little ones to think they’re getting away with something by watching it). But the film causes delight, not delinquency. And, to put it mildly, that can’t always be said for a lot of the previously delinquent, narcissistic movies for grownups [by] Anderson.” 87 minutes. (Rated PG for some action, smoking and anti-social ideas.)??? (Jeff Simon) Opened Wednesday in area theaters.

NINJA ASSASSIN. Starring Rain, Naomie Harris, Sho Kosugi and Ben Miles. Kidnapped as a boy and raised to be a deadly assassin, Raizo seeks revenge on the clan who murdered his childhood friend. 99 minutes. (RatedRfor bloody, stylized violence and language.)?? Opened Wednesday in area theaters. See review on Page 4.

OLD DOGS. Robin Williams, John Travolta, Kelly Preston and Seth Green star in a comedy about single guys who are put in charge of young twins. (Rated PG for some mild rude humor.) Opened Wednesday in area theaters.
