Several customers in a Manhattan Bagel restaurant in Orchard Park were taken to the hospital Sunday morning for possible carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Orchard Park police.

Police received a report at 10:43 a. m. from National Fuel of ill patrons at the Manhattan Bagel at 4110 N. Buffalo Road. Officials of the Orchard Park Fire District and National Fuel detected a high reading of carbon monoxide in the plaza’s stores, with the source being the Colonial Laundromat in the plaza, police said.

Several unidentified customers were transported to Mercy Hospital and the Mercy Ambulatory Care Center for possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

The plaza remains open, with the exception of the laundry, and an investigation is under way to determine the source of the carbon monoxide leak, police reported.
