Dump truck crash jams Niagara Thruway traffic

A dump truck crashed Thursday morning on the southbound Niagara Thruway near Vulcan Street, causing a major traffic jam for inbound commuters near the end of the morning rush hour.
The truck driver suffered what state police called a minor injury, and the southbound Niagara Thruway lanes between Sheridan Drive and Ontario Street were closed for slightly more than half an hour. The accident occurred about 8:48 a. m., police said.
