Route 60 crash blamed on stacked hay wagon
Updated: August 21, 2010, 3:11 AM
SINCLAIRVILLE—A Cassadaga man operating a tractor towing a hay wagon on Route 60 was charged Wednesday with violations following a crash with another vehicle, Chautauqua County sheriff’s officials said.
Anthony J. Mikula, 27, of Cassadaga Road, was charged with impeding traffic and operating without a “slow moving” emblem. The wagon was rear-ended at about 5:30 p. m. by a vehicle driven by Darlene A. Shoup, 55, of Jamestown. Police said the hay was stacked so high on the wagon that the safety lights on the tractor were obscured.
Shoup and Mikula were taken to local hospitals with undisclosed injuries. Route 60 was closed for an hour following the crash police said.
