Police seek robbery victim so attacker can be charged
Updated: August 21, 2010, 3:11 AM
NIAGARA FALLS—City police said Wednesday that they are searching for the victim of a strong-arm robbery Tuesday in the parking lot of the Walgreens drugstore in the 1200 block of Pine Avenue.
Police said they arrested the suspect but can’t lodge charges without the victim.
Witnesses said an elderly woman was standing at the trunk of her vehicle just before 2 p. m. when she was thrown to the ground, her glasses were broken, and her purse and cell phone were stolen.
Three men working on their car nearby chased and caught the attacker, who was treated for facial injuries in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
The victim, however, drove off in her car and did not report the crime.
Detectives are asking the victim to come forward and report the crime to detectives at 286-4555 so charges can be placed against the suspect.
