LOCKPORT—Nine months in the Niagara County Jail was the sentence Tuesday for a man who took part in an attempt to steal copper pipes from a vacant house on Walnut Avenue in Niagara Falls on Sept. 11, 2008.

Shawn K. Haseley, 38, of Rainbow Park, Ransomville, had pleaded guilty to petit larceny before County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza. Back in July, Jimmie L. Anthony, 51, of Ferry Avenue, and John W. Gates, 42, of Ontario Avenue, were sentenced to a year in jail on the same charge.
